County Sheriff’s Blotter: Two accidents lead to arrests

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office released reports on two separate car accidents that led to arrests.

Below are the reports.

Pietta M. Goodall

Goodall, 27, of Marathon, was arrested on Sunday (Feb. 4).

The county sheriff’s report stated that officers responded to Hoxie Gorge Road in the town of Freetown for a “personal injury automobile” accident.

According to the report, Goodall was driving “while her ability was impaired by drugs,” which caused her to travel off the roadway and into a telephone pole. Goodall was also in possession of drugs.

Goodall was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, speed not reasonable and prudent, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia and two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. 

Goodall was processed, released and now due to appear in Freetown town court for arraignment on Feb. 28.

Carl S. Crawford

Crawford, 45, of Binghamton, was arrested on Sunday (Feb. 4).

The county sheriff’s report stated that officers responded to Carr Road in the town of Willet for a property damage car accident.

According to the report, Crawford was driving while intoxicated, which caused him to travel off the roadway and into a tree.

Along with his DWI charge, Crawford was also charged with speed not reasonable and prudent. Crawford was processed, released and now due to appear in Willet town court on Feb. 27 for arraignment.
