A small area of low pressure will ride north along the eastern seaboard, spreading some rain showers into our area.

The rain will be on and off today. The best chance for an hour or two of steadier rain will come in the late morning and early afternoon.

Showers will taper off later in the afternoon and should be out of the area by sunset. There could even be a brief glimpse of some sunshine before the day is done.

Winds will be from the southeast with speeds of 5-10 mph.

Temperatures will top out in the low to perhaps mid 50s this afternoon. Tonight, the temperature will slide back into the 40s.

During the evening, skies will be partly cloudy for a brief time before clouds increase again. A new frontal system from the northwest could even spread a few showers back into the area by sunrise.

Overnight lows will end up in the low 40s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Wednesday: Cloudy. Occasional showers. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.
