Cortland Indoor Track & Field: Four athletes competed in Nationals (Results)

The Cortland indoor track & field team sent four athletes to compete in Nationals over the weekend. 

According to Cortland head coach Luke Schweider, eighth grader Isabella Sisting competed in the 60 meter dash for middle school at the New Balance Nationals in Boston. 

Sisting ended up placing 76th overall after running the 60 meter dash in 8.64 seconds.

For the boys’ team, Michael Dearie, Bryan Honan, and Jack Phelan competed at Nike Nationals in New York City. 

According to coach Schweider, Dearie and Honan competed in weight throw event, while Phelan competed in triple jump event. All three athletes competed in the Emerging Elite Division.

Dearie ended up placing 3rd overall in the weight throw event (Result - 60’4.5”). 

Phelan placed 20th overall in the triple jump event with a jump of 41’5.75”.

According to the Nike Indoor national results, Honan did not place after fouling in the weight throw event.
