A cold front will approach the area today, but rain will not move in until after sunset.

The morning hours will have some sunshine mixing in with gradually increasing clouds. Sunshine will be hard to come by during the afternoon with mostly overcast skies.

Winds will be light and variable, if not completely calm, for most of the day today.

The lack of sunshine and lack of warming winds will keep temperatures just a touch cooler than yesterday. It will still be plenty warm, though, with highs in the upper 50s with perhaps a few pockets of low 60s.

Scattered rain showers will move through tonight in two main areas. The first will be out ahead of the cold front during the evening hours. The second will be along the cold front well after midnight.

All in all, rain amounts are expected to remain low, with many areas seeing around or under a tenth of an inch.

The clouds and showers overnight will hold temperatures up, with evening temperatures in the 50s and overnight lows in the mid 40s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Friday: Cloudy. A few early spits of rain or drizzle. A little late sun possible. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.

Saturday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a few stray showers. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid and upper 40s.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy with a brief window for rain. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Monday: Mostly cloudy. A few snow showers. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.
