Low pressure will pass to our north today, keeping some snow showers in the area.

Brief periods of snow will be possible at almost any time today. Individual snow showers will be on the brief side but may contain a few minutes of heavier snowfall.

The snow showers will be especially prevalent early in the morning and during the afternoon hours.

Daytime snow accumulations should be limited to a coating on grassy surfaces which will likely melt between snow showers.

There will be a window for some better organized lake effect snow this evening which could bring a localized inch or two. This should dissipate to stray flurries after midnight.

Winds will be from the southwest with speeds up to 10 mph through the mid-afternoon. Then, a cold front will turn winds to the northwest and increase them to 15 mph.

Wind gusts will be around 35 mph for a few hours until decreasing slightly as the sun sets. Overnight winds will remain near or just under 15 mph with gusts near or just under 30 mph.

Temperatures will rise to a high in the mid or even upper 30s early this afternoon. Once the wind shifts, temperatures will start to drop through the 30s.

After sunset, it will be a quick drop into the mid 20s with an overnight low near or just under 20 degrees.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Thursday: Morning snow showers. Breezy and cool. Morning lows near 20. Afternoon highs in the upper 20s.

Friday: Mostly cloudy. Possibly some late snow. Morning lows in the mid 10s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Saturday: More clouds than sun. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs near 40.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy. Morning lows in the low 20s. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.
