Today will be quiet across the area, but rather cold with well below average temperatures.

The best chance for some light snow showers will come during the morning hours. Small bands of lake effect snow off Lake Ontario will linger into the mid-morning but should dissipate thereafter.

Skies will remain mostly to completely cloudy throughout the day but should break up some for the nighttime hours. The best chance for a little sun to poke through will be just before sunset.

Blustery northwest winds will keep temperatures chilly. Wind speeds will be near or over 15 mph during the morning and only slightly less during the afternoon. Wind gusts will be as high as 40 mph this morning.

Temperatures will struggle to rise and will only make it into the upper 20s this afternoon. With the wind, it will feel like the 10s.

The evening air will quickly cool with temperatures dropping to the low 20s shortly after sunset. Overnight lows should make it down into the mid 10s.

Saturday: Cloudy. Maybe a little early snow. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.

Sunday: Morning clouds giving way to sun. Morning lows in the low 20s. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.

Monday: Sun and a few clouds. Morning lows in the low 20s. Afternoon highs in the upper 40s.
