Sheriff’s Blotter: Driving while impaired by drugs, DWI and more

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office recently released multiple arrest reports.

Below are the reports:

Roland L. Oliver

Oliver, 36, of Pittsford, was arrested on Sunday (April 28).

The county sheriff’s report stated that Oliver allegedly violated a full stay-away order of protection during a domestic incident in Preble. The report noted that Oliver also allegedly drove a vehicle while impaired by drugs.

Oliver was charged with second-degree criminal contempt and driving while impaired by drugs (misdemeanors). He was arraigned and now scheduled to appear in Preble town court on May 14.

Everett C. Thompson

Thompson, 27, of Norwich, was arrested on Sunday (April 28).

The county sheriff’s report stated that after officers responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint on Mill Street in the town of Willet, it was discovered that Thompson was allegedly operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Thompson was charged with DWI (a misdemeanor), and operating/driving an unregistered motor vehicle and for consumption of an alcoholic beverage/possession of an open container (violations).

Thompson was arraigned and now scheduled to appear in Willet town court on Thursday (May 2).

Daniel L. Ackermann

Ackermann, 41, listed as homeless in Cortland, was arrested on Tuesday (April 30).

The county sheriff’s report stated that Ackermann allegedly stole merchandise from the Harbor Freight store in Cortlandville before he left the scene. The report also noted that Ackermann was allegedly in possession of a controlled substance, which was not in the original container.

Ackermann was charged with petit larceny, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (misdemeanors) and possession of a controlled substance (by ultimate users’ original container, a violation).

Ackermann was processed, released and is now scheduled to appear in Cortlandville town court on May 13.
