A Canastota man already facing sex abuse allegations received more charges for a separate incident, according to a report.

The Cortland County Sheriff’s report stated that Nicholas R. Carew, 30, allegedly subjected a victim to inappropriate sexual contact on several occasions between 2011 and 2013 in the town of Homer. According to the report, the victim knows Carew.

The new allegations against Carew comes after he was accused of sexual abuse in April for incidents that occurred in 2010 and 2011 at an undisclosed location in the city of Cortland.

Reports stated that Carew turned himself in to the county sheriff’s office on April 11. He was charged with four counts of first-degree criminal sex act (a Class-B Felony) and four counts of forcible touching (a misdemeanor) from this arrest.

Carew was arrested Wednesday (May 1) on a warrant and charged with six counts of first-degree criminal sex act (Class-B Felony), first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child (Class-B Felony) and predatory sexual assault against a child (Class A-II Felony).

Carew was sent to Cortland County Jail without bail after he previously had bail set at $5,000 cash or a $25,000 bond for his arrest in April. He is scheduled to appear in Homer town court on May 7.
