Vehicle drives into a house in Cortland County

Local firefighters responded to a vehicle driving into a house in Cortland County over the weekend, according to a report.

On Friday (May 3) at about 4 p.m., the Cortlandville Fire Department, along with TLC-EMS and the New York State Police, dispatched to Blodgett Mills Road West in the hamlet of Blodgett Mills. 

According to the report, a single occupant was still in the vehicle, and there was “significant damage” to the vehicle and the residence. The driver was assisted out of the vehicle and treated by TLC-EMS for minor injuries.

Firefighters found “significant structural damage” to the residence. The Cortlandville code enforcement department evaluated the residence.

Also assisting the Cortlandville fire department at the scene was NYSEG and National Grid. The American Red Cross assisted the residents, while the accident is being investigated by state police.
