Coach Cavellier has retired from coaching the boys’ tennis team, but will continue to coach the girls’ tennis team in the fall.

"Coaching is like riding a roller coaster," stated Cavellier. "Who knew back ('79-'82) while playing on the Homer Varsity Boys Tennis Team that I'd be chatting with you about retiring from coaching at Homer today.  Although I started coaching the Homer Girls team in 1988, in 2007 an opportunity to coach the Homer Boys team came about.  It was a struggle during the first season. However the second season we 'got the monkey off our backs' ... so memorable, we had lost the first 4 matches and then at ESM we were tied with the deciding match at 3rd singles. (Ryan S) He came back with the win and a WIN for the team! The team carried him off the court! We turned that season around with a 5-4 overall record! This was followed by the next season with a 10-1 record and Co-Champions for the league! The rest is 'history' as they say! It's been a great "ride" coaching these boys and witnessing such success in all their lives! With this said, I'm excited to continue coaching the girls in the fall!"

The day became even more special, as the Trojans ended up beating LaFayette with a team score of 5-0.
