A cold front last night has set our temperatures back while a second weather system this afternoon will increase the chances for rain.

The morning will be mostly cloudy but dry. If there are any brief breaks of sunshine today, they will be during the morning.

Clouds will become thick in the afternoon with rain showers arriving after 4 PM. Most areas should see rain before the sun sets. A rumble of thunder cannot be totally ruled out, either, but widespread thunderstorms are unlikely.

Winds will be much lighter than yesterday with speeds around 5 mph. The wind direction will be from the north or north-northeast.

Between the clouds and northerly flow, temperatures will not escape the 50s today. Most of the county will be in the upper 50s, but a few of the northern hilltops may stay closer to 55 degrees.

Scattered showers early in the evening will transition to a steady rainfall for much of the overnight. Rain will persist into Friday morning as well.

Temperatures will drop to the mid 40s overnight, even with the rainfall.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Friday: Cloudy with prolonged periods of showers. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy with late morning and afternoon showers. Morning lows near 40. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Sunday: Morning clouds and showers… drier in the afternoon with some late breaks of sun. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Monday: A few early showers. Some sun. Morning lows in the upper 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.
