A soggy day is ahead as low pressure slowly tracks eastward across the region, even stalling out for a while as it does so.

Rain will likely fall steadily throughout the day today, possibly without any breaks during the daytime hours.

The rain will gradually taper to showers this evening and come to an end overnight. By the time it does so, rainfall amounts will be around an inch, give or take a couple tenths of an inch.

Winds will be light today, starting from the north at around 5 mph. The wind will become calm this afternoon, then eventually turn to the south tonight, staying at or below 5 mph.

Temperatures will be held down by the rainfall. Some areas may have a hard time getting above 50 degrees today, and nowhere in the county is expected to reach 55 degrees.

Evening temperatures will slide back into the upper 40s with overnight lows in the low 40s.

Some areas of fog may develop as the rain ends tonight and will be possible into Saturday morning.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Saturday: Mostly cloudy with late morning and afternoon showers. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Sunday: Morning clouds and showers… drier in the afternoon with some late breaks of sun. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Monday: Scattered showers and perhaps a thunderstorm. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.
