A frontal boundary will drift through the region today, bringing with it more showers and perhaps a few rumbles of thunder.

The first batch of rain will move through during the mid to late morning hours. These showers will be organized into a semi-broken line and should progress through the area steadily.

The early afternoon will turn out mostly dry and some breaks in the clouds will be possible.

New showers and a few thunderstorms will pop up during the afternoon hours.

These will be more likely to stay as individual small cells or organize into small clusters. As such, a few areas may stay dry for longer periods of time, or even sneak through the afternoon without additional rain.

The weather will settle down this evening, with any lingering showers dissipating or moving north of the region. Skies will remain rather cloudy through the night, though.

South and southwest winds will blow throughout the day and the night. Wind speeds will be up to 10 mph with gusts of 20-25 mph during the day and up to 20 mph at night.

The southerly flow will bring warmer air into the region with highs in the upper 60s to perhaps near 70 degrees. Evening temperatures will slowly fall through the 60s with an overnight low in the mid 50s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Tuesday: Scattered showers, especially in the afternoon. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s.

Wednesday: Cloudy with lingering showers. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy. Maybe a morning shower. Morning lows near 50. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s.

Friday: Clouds, some sun, and a stray shower or two. Morning lows in the upper 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.
