With no major weather systems nearby, the daytime heating cycle will be the main driver of the weather today.

Skies will start off mostly sunny early this morning, but as surface temperatures rise, fair weather clouds will start to bubble up.

The clouds will be numerous from the late morning through the mid afternoon. A few stray spits of rain will even be possible.

There should still be some sunshine between the clouds throughout the day. As we head into the late afternoon and the heating cycle reverses, skies should again become mostly clear by sunset.

A light northeast wind will blow with speeds around 5 mph. Temperatures will be in the low 70s this afternoon.

Evening temperatures will quickly fall through the 60s and into the upper 50s tonight. However, winds will turn to the southeast and clouds will gradually build in, slowing the decline in temperatures.

Overnight lows should be in the low 50s with skies becoming mostly cloudy by sunrise.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Friday: Mostly cloudy with a little filtered sun early in the day. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy with some scattered showers. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s.

Sunday: More sun than clouds. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s.

Monday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.
