The top-seeded Cincinnatus Lady Lions were upset by No.6-seed Sackets Harbor in the Section III Class D championship title game, as they lost with a score of 7-3.

The game was played at Carrier Park in East Syracuse Wednesday evening.

Cincinnatus was not able to get anything going offensively until the sixth inning. They scored three runs at the bottom of the sixth to make it a 6-3 game.

However, Sackets Harbor would then score one more run at the top of the final inning to capitalize on their win.

“Errors killed us a little bit there, but the girls never gave up,” said Cincinnatus head coach Mikayla Gates. “They dug their heels, and weren’t going to go down easy; so I am really proud of them.”
