Cool air will remain in place today under a northwesterly flow of air.

Northwest winds will blow with speeds up to 10 mph today. A few gusts may reach 25 mph.

Skies will start out sunny, but fair weather clouds will quickly bubble up during the morning hours. The clouds may become numerous and thick at times through the late morning and afternoon hours.

No rain is expected, though.

Late in the day, as the daytime heating cycle winds down, the clouds will dissipate almost as quickly as they formed. Clear skies are expected this evening and through the overnight.

Temperatures will top out with highs only in the mid and low 60s. Higher elevations will be the coolest, as usual.

Evening temperatures will rapidly fall through the 50s and into the 40s.

Overnight lows will be in the low 40s. A few colder pockets could even flirt with the upper 30s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Friday: Lots of sunshine. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s.

Saturday: Some sun filtered through increasing clouds. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Sunday: Scattered showers. Morning lows near 50. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Monday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.
