A small area of low pressure will track toward the region today but will have a hard time overcoming dry air already in place.

Much of the day will be cloudy. The best chances for a few peaks of sunshine will be during the morning hours.

Rain chances will remain near zero through the first half of the afternoon. The late afternoon and early evening will have the best chance for rain.

The rain will remain scattered and light, however, and some areas may not see any at all.

A light south wind will blow throughout the day. Wind speeds will generally be at or below 5 mph. The wind will become nearly calm and variable as the rain showers move in.

Eventually, the wind direction will become northerly overnight.

Afternoon highs will reach the mid and upper 70s. Evening temperatures will slowly drop through the 60s and overnight lows will make it to the mid 50s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Monday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a stray shower. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Tuesday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs near 80.

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a few late showers or storms. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Thursday: Afternoon showers and storms. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.
