A man pleaded guilty in Cortland County Court on Monday following his connection to a $50,000 equipment and tools theft.

Christopher C. Bush pled guilty to fourth-degree conspiracy (a Class-E Felony). According to reports, Bush was arrested last year for his involvement in stealing $50,000 worth of tools and equipment. Bush was one of a handful of arrests made during the investigation.

Reports stated that city police received a complaint that a vehicle-enclosed utility trailer was stolen from a job site on Clinton Avenue. Reports continued by saying that the trailer was located south of Pipeline Road in Cortland County. Contents of the trailer, which included construction tools and equipment, were stolen out of the trailer.

Following the execution of several search warrants, the majority of the stolen property – which was valued at $50,000 – was recovered, the report noted.

Bush was previously charged with second-degree grand larceny and second-degree criminal possession of stolen property (felonies). He is scheduled for sentencing on Aug. 8.
