Showers and a few thunderstorms will pop up during the daytime heating today.

The morning will be quiet and should start off with most clear skies. Fair weather clouds will quickly develop, however, becoming numerous during the mid and late morning.

By midday, individual small showers will start to develop. These will be scattered about throughout the afternoon. Some areas may see multiple showers, a few areas may see none. But most should see at least a few minutes of rain here and there.

A few rumbles of thunder or brief downpours will be possible with the stronger showers, but no intense thunderstorms are expected.

Temperatures will top out near or slightly below 70 degrees this afternoon.

Winds will mainly be westerly but may jog to the northwest or southwest from time to time. Wind speeds will generally be around 5 mph with some briefly stronger winds around individual showers.

The rain will dissipate late in the day as the daytime heating cycle winds down. Mostly dry conditions and partly cloudy skies are expected tonight.

Nighttime temperatures will quickly fall into the 50s this evening with a low near or just above 50 degrees overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Saturday: Sun, clouds, and a few scattered showers. Morning lows around 50. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.

Sunday: Scattered showers, especially early. Morning lows around 50. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.

Monday: Scattered showers. Morning lows in the upper 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.

Tuesday: Sun and clouds. A stray spit of rain cannot be ruled out. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s.
