Burglary reported at village food mart; nearby store also victim of ‘smash and grab’

A food mart in Cortland County reported a burglary during the early-morning hours of Sunday, according to reports.

According to the Village Food Market Facebook page, a local mart on South Main Street in Homer, the building was a “victim of smash and grab” around 4 a.m. on Sunday.

According to a Facebook post from the Homer Police Department, officers are currently investigating the burglary incident at the food mart. The posted noted that it’s been determined that at least two individuals “forcefully entered the store” and stole items.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Homer PD at 607-749-2022.

A food mart nearby was also a victim of “smash and grab.” According to a post on Facebook, the Tully Market also reported a burglary that occurred during the early-morning hours of Sunday.

Further details on the burglary reports have yet to be determined.
