A cool day is ahead without much in the way of sunshine.

A large, strong area of low pressure continues to meander eastward across eastern Canada and will finally start to move off over the Atlantic Ocean today.

As it does so, one more push of cool air will build in, teaming up with Lake Ontario to produce a cloudy day.

There will be some occasional showers as well. The rain will generally be light and spotty, or simply some drizzle. This will be possible throughout the daytime hours.

Northwest winds will be steady but not quite as strong as recent days. Wind speeds will be around 10 mph with gusts to 25 mph.

All this will add up to temperatures struggling to reach, let alone get above 60 degrees.

Looking at the recent climate record, almost every June over the last 30 years has a day with highs near or below 60 degrees, so this isn’t too atypical.

Most of the rain showers will end by this evening, but clouds will hold tough through the night. Temperatures will slide back through the 50s this evening and into the mid 40s overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with a few spits of rain. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Thursday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Friday: Showers and thunderstorms possible. Morning lows near 60. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.
