Multiple projects on Groton Avenue to move along this week.

According to Crown City Rising, construction crews are installing a storm sewer main at the intersection of Groton Avenue, Main Street, North Main Street and Clinton Avenue. A flagger will be present with some lane restrictions.

Also this week, construction crews are continuing to install new curbing along the west side of Main Street between Groton Avenue and Orchard Street. Crews have installed layout stakes to show where the new curb lines will be placed.

Once crews install the curbing, they will begin installing the foundations and infrastructure for the new street lighting behind the curb lines.

Other projects on Groton Avenue include installing new water services to properties between Graham Avenue and Otter Creek Place. Only local traffic is allowed, with no thru traffic. Drivers should continue to utilize the signed detour route.

Crews are also continuing to work on parking lot reconstruction for the Groton Avenue lot. Storm drainage and lighting infrastructure in the western portion of the lot.

The western portion from Groton Avenue and Orchard Street entrances remain closed. Access to the eastern portion of the lot from Groton Avenue near the Hollywood Restaurant is open. Temporary on-street parking and pick-up parking is available on Groton Avenue.
