A man convicted for threatening a witness, along with a couple of drug charges, received his prison sentencing in Cortland County Court on Thursday.

Chester L. Burdick, of McGraw, received two sentences of three years in prison and three years of post-release supervision for third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was also sentenced to 2-to-4 years in prison for his conviction of third-degree intimidating a witness/victim.

Burdick pleaded guilty to all of his convictions in January of this year

Since his sentencing included a felony conviction, county judge Julie Campbell said in court on Thursday that Burdick will be sentenced as a second felony offender, which is consistent with his felony conviction in 2011. Sentencings for each conviction will run consecutively instead of concurrently, Campbell added.

Burdick was arrested multiple times within a year. His first arrest was Dec. 1, 2022, and his last arrest occurred on Dec. 22 of last year.
