Sheriff’s Blotter: Damaging property, threats to harm victim and more

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office provided reports of recent arrests in the area.

Below are the reports:

Christian L. Barrows

Barrows, 22, of Freeville, was arrested on Wednesday (June 12).

The county sheriff’s report stated that officers responded to a domestic disturbance call at a residence on Route 11 in Cortlandville.

According to the report, Barrows was allegedly “involved in a physical altercation” with the victim. Barrows also allegedly “damaged property” that belonged to the victim, the report continued, before he left the scene.

Barrows was arrested on a warrant and charged with third-degree criminal mischief (felony), second-degree unlawful imprisonment and criminal obstruction of breathing/blood (misdemeanors), and second-degree harassment (violation).

Barrows was arraigned, released and is now due to appear in Cortlandville town court on Monday (June 17).

Ethan A. Monroe

Monroe, 32, of Cortlandville, was arrested on Sunday (June 9).

The county sheriff’s report stated that officers investigated a domestic disturbance on Holiday Drive in Cortlandville. 

According to the report, Monroe allegedly “made threats to harm a known victim” while in the presence of a child. When Monroe was arrested, he was allegedly in possession of drugs.

Monroe was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (misdemeanors), and second-degree harassment (violation).

Monroe was processed, arraigned, released and is now due to appear in court at a later date.

Michael D. West

West, 47, of Truxton, was arrested on Thursday (June 13).

The county sheriff’s report stated that officers responded to a disturbance on East River Road in Truxton.

According to the report, West allegedly engaged in a physical altercation with another individual.

West was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing (misdemeanor) and second-degree harassment (violation). He was processed, arraigned, released and is now due to appear in Truxton town court on Wednesday.
