Hot and humid weather will persist for the region today.

Once again, there will be a chance for some pop-up showers and storms thanks to the heat and humidity.

The main question will continue to be whether or not there are any disturbances in the atmosphere to give storms their initial push towards developing.

The best chance for showers and storms will be in the late afternoon, but the atmosphere is such that they could form at almost any time, so long as there is something to trigger them.

Any storm that develops will have the potential for torrential downpours and some strong winds.

Outside of the storms, skies will be partly cloudy to mostly sunny. Winds will be weak from the south and southwest with speeds around 5 mph.

Temperatures will make another run at the low 90s this afternoon. With dewpoints well into the 60s and low 70s, the heat index will be in the mid 90s.

It will be a slow drop through the 80s this evening and overnight lows will only make it down to around 70 degrees.

There will continue to be low chances for showers and storms overnight.

Thursday: Sun and clouds with afternoon showers and storms. Morning lows around 70 degrees. Afternoon highs around 90 degrees.

Friday: Scattered showers and storms likely. Morning lows the upper 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.

Saturday: Scattered showers and storms possible. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.

Sunday: Scattered showers and storms possible. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.
