Individuals arrested for loaded firearm possession (County Sheriff)

Two individuals were arrested last week in connection to loaded firearm possession, according to a report.

The Cortland County Sheriff’s report stated that officers conducted a traffic stop on Blodgett Mills Road in the town of Cortlandville after observing a vehicle and traffic law violation.

According to the report, Casey L. Chorley, 34, of Freetown – and Jastinee M. Catalano, 25, of Cortland, were both in the vehicle and found to be in possession of a loaded firearm. The report stated that Chorley and Catalano are both prohibited from possessing firearms. Chorley was also in possession of drugs.

Chorley and Catalano were arrested last Friday (June 14). Chorley was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and seventh-degree criminal possession of a weapon (misdemeanors), prohibitions on the use and possession of firearms and for side wings/side windows non-transparent (a violation). Catalano was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon (misdemeanor) and prohibitions on the use and possession of firearms.

Both individuals were processed, released and are now due to appear in Cortlandville town court on Monday (June 24).
