Low pressure passing to our north today will open the region up to a moisture laden airmass, resulting in frequent rain throughout the day.

Rain will be possible, if not likely, at any time today. At times, there will be areas of widespread steady rain moving through. Between these areas, numerous, frequent showers will be likely.

The best chances for some dry time will be during the mid to late morning and late afternoon.

Thunderstorms will generally not be much of a concern, though a few thundery downpours may accompany the end of the afternoon rain. A few more scattered storms will be possible this evening and overnight.

With some strong winds in the atmosphere above the surface, any storms that do form will need to be watched for the potential to bring those strong winds down to the surface. Overall, though, the severe risk is minimal.

Temperatures will spend much of the day in the low 70s, but will rise to the mid 70s late in the afternoon and early this evening. Dewpoints will also rise at this time, reaching about 70.

It will remain warm and muggy through the night with overnight lows barely getting below 70 degrees.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Sunday: A few midday showers and thunderstorms. Morning lows in the upper 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Monday: A few lingering showers. Increasing afternoon sun. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Tuesday: Sunshine mixing with thin clouds. Morning lows near 50. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Wednesday: Sun, clouds, and a few late storms possible. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.
