Low pressure that brought the rain yesterday will be departing the region today, but not before dragging a pair of cold fronts through the region.

There will be a chance for a few showers here and there at almost any time today, but probably the best chances will be along the fronts during the midday and early evening hours.

Even so, most of the time it will not be raining, and some areas may go the entire daytime hours without seeing rain. This evening, a small area of showers will be likely, bringing most areas some light rain.

There will be some glimpses of sunshine here and there in the morning, with a better chance for some sunny break this afternoon.

Winds will start out today from the southwest with speeds around 10 mph. It will be a warm and muggy morning with temperatures rising through the 70s and dewpoints not far behind.

However, by the early afternoon, winds will turn to the northwest behind the first front. Wind speeds will increase to 10-15 mph with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Temperatures will drop back into the low half of the 70s over the afternoon, and dewpoints will crash back into the 50s.

Winds will shift a little more towards the north following the second front with overnight wind speeds around 10 mph.

Nighttime temperatures will drop steadily and should reach a low in the low 50s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Monday: Morning clouds, then turning mostly sunny. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Tuesday: Sunshine mixing with thin clouds. Morning lows near 50. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Wednesday: Sun, clouds, and a few late storms possible. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Thursday: A mix of sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.
