Road clear after tractor trailer crash in Groton

Update (12:30 p.m.) — Route 34B/Peruville Road is now clear after an 18-wheeler crashed between Cobb Street and Brown Road in Groton.

The crash was caused by slippery road conditions, according to Lt. Daniel Donahue of the Tompkins County Sheriff's Office. The tractor-trailer slid off the road and entered the ditch, where the trailer overturned but the tractor stayed upright, Donahue said.

No one was injured.

Crews are on the scene of a crash involving an 18-wheeler that rolled over on Route 34B at Cobb Street in Groton.

The crash involving one truck took place around 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at Peruville Road and Cobb Street. No one was injured, according to the Tompkins County 911 Center.

Traffic might be slow in the area as crews clean up the scene. Traffic is being diverted to one lane as of 10:40 a.m., according to the dispatch center.

Freeville and Etna Fire Departments are on the scene along with the Tompkins County Sheriff's Office. Dryden Ambulance was also called to the scene.
