Showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue this afternoon into tonight across the area.

Rainfall totals could be 1 to 3 inches in some spots, which could cause flash flooding, forecasters say.

Flooding can occur in urban areas and along small streams and creeks.

The National Weather Service advises motorists not to cross roads that are covered with water.

A flash flood watch remains in effect until 2 a.m. Wednesday.
