At around 6:20 p.m., the Cortland County 911 Center received a report of a car that had driven into the building.

After police arrived on scene, Artist Quiller, 44, of Cortland, was given a ticket for aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.

Quiller was driving through the parking lot when his foot became stuck underneath the brake pedal, preventing him from stopping before driving into the building, according to Lt. Richard Troyer with the City of Cortland Police Department.

One person who was in the store at the time suffered minor injuries but declined medical attention, Troyer said.

An employee at the gas station said Tuesday that damage to the building was minimal and the store will remain open.
