Warrant leads to arrest of Cortland man on drug charges

CORTLAND, N.Y. — The Cortland County Sheriff's Office served an arrest warrant at a Cortland home on Tuesday, June 28, related to the possession and sale of a controlled substance, an official with the sheriff's office announced today.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., officers served a warrant on Fredrick S. Burdick III, 38, of Winter Street, for three felony counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance.

While Burdick was being taken into custody, officers found he was in possession of drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine.

Burdick was arraigned on the felony charges and taken to Cortland County Jail on $2,500 bail. He was also served appearance tickets for criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.

He is scheduled to appear in Cortland City Court on July 22 to answer to the charges.
