Dryden man accused of stealing scrap metal from business

DRYDEN, N.Y. — State police arrested a Dryden man who is accused of stealing scrap metal from a local business.

Lucas I. Thomas, 35, has been charged with misdemeanor petit larceny following an investigation into a complaint regarding stolen scrap metal from Caskey's Auto Repair in Dryden.

Surveillance footage showed a male suspect with "a distinctive pickup truck" stealing scrap metal from the at about 1:30 a.m. Thursday, according to a news release from state police.

After he was identified as a suspect, troopers came to Thomas' home and took him into custody.

He was issued a ticket returnable to Dryden Town Court on August 10.
