Cortland County jail inmate charged with promoting prison contraband

CORTLAND, N.Y. — An inmate at the Cortland County Jail faces a felony drug charge after she was found to be in possession of a small amount of Suboxone, the Cortland County Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday.

On Thurs., Feb. 9, officers learned that Kylee C. Poole, 22, was in possession of a small amount of contraband, authorities said.

Poole, who is incarcerated on unrelated charges at the Cortland County Jail, was found with a small quantity of Suboxone, which is used to treat pain and addiction to narcotic pain relievers such as heroin, the sheriff's office said.

She was arrested and processed at the Cortland County Sheriff's Office and charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband, a class D felony, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
