Three charged after authorities uncover meth lab in Cuyler

CUYLER, N.Y. -- Three Cortland County residents were arrested Thursday in connection with a meth lab that was found at a home in the town of Cuyler.

On Thursday morning, investigators from four different law enforcement agencies carried out a search warrant at a residence on West Keeney Road in Cuyler.

After the warrant was served, three people were taken into custody without incident. An infant at the home was turned over to a family member, authorities said.

The search warrant was the result of an approximately two-month investigation by the Cortland County Sheriff's Office, which received complaints of suspicious and possibly illegal drug activity at the residence, according to Lt. Todd Caufield.

Several items used to manufacture methamphetamine were seized, along with drug paraphernalia and several long guns, the sheriff's office said.

The three individuals who were taken into custody are identified as:

-- Bret "Bo" Eccleston, 25; charged with third-degree unlawful manufacturing methamphetamine, a class D felony; fifth-degree conspiracy; endangering the welfare of a child, criminal possession of a controlled substance; criminally using drug paraphernalia; criminal possession of hypodermic instrument

-- Bradley Bush, 35; charged with third-degree unlawful manufacturing methamphetamine, a class D felony; fifth-degree conspiracy; endangering the welfare of a child, criminal possession of a controlled substance; criminally using drug paraphernalia; unlawful possession of marijuana

-- Bridgett Dungey, 25; charged with third-degree unlawful manufacturing methamphetamine, a class D felony; fifth-degree conspiracy; endangering the welfare of a child

The investigation is continuing and additional charges are possible, the sheriff's office said.

The Cortland City Police Department, Homer Police Department and New York State Police assisted the sheriff's office with its investigation.
