Trio arrested on drug charges

Name(s): Jessica A. Peer, 33, of Freeville; Alexander J. Hale, 22, of Freeville; James O. Glover, 47, of Cortland
Charges: Criminal possession of a controlled substance (misdemeanor); other misdemeanor drug charges; endangering the welfare of a child (misdemeanor); littering
Date Arrested: Nov. 25, 2017
Narrative: At around 1:13 a.m. Saturday, the Cortland County Sheriff's Office stopped a vehicle on Starr Road in Cortlandville after the driver was observed throwing trash out of the vehicle and onto the roadway. Two passengers in the car were "observed with drug paraphernalia." A search of the vehicle uncovered methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana and hypodermic needles, the sheriff's office said. The vehicle was also occuupied by four children who were not properly restrained, authorities said. The children were released to family members. The three occupants were arrested, processed, and remanded to the Cortland County Jail.

 

Cortland man accused of threatening woman

Narrative: At approximately 9:45 p.m., officers from the Cortland County Sheriff's Office stopped a vehicle being operated by 32-year-old John W. Alexander. He is alleged to have called a 30-year-old woman and threatening to slit her throat, police. He was arraigned in Cortland City Court to appear at a later date.
