HOMER, N.Y. - The Homer Central School District has begun the search process for its next superintendent following the announcement that Nancy Ruscio will step down in June 2018.

Ruscio has served as superintendent of the district for the past seven years. She is stepping down from the position in order to spend more time with her family, she said.

The district's Board of Education, under the guidance of acting superintendent Jody Manning, is launching "an intensive search for the next leader of our Great District," the district said in a statement on its website

The school district is currently seeking feedback from parents, students, staff, and community members via an online survey, which is available here.

A new superintendent is expected to be in place in time for the start of the 2018-2019 academic year.
