BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — The Northstar Christian Academy boys basketball team defeated Tully, 58-43, at the 2018 New York State Section III Class D state semifinal at Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton Friday afternoon.

A fourth-quarter surge by the Knights propelled the Rochester squad past the Tully Black Knights to advance to the Class C State finals, which will be played at the same area Saturday afternoon.

Both teams scored 11 points in the first quarter and 10 points in the second quarter, heading into halftime tied at 21-21.

An 8-0 run by the Knights in the third quarter would give Northstar Christian Academy a 6-point edge heading into the fourth quarter, and the Black Knights were unable to mount a comeback.

Following the game, Tully Senior Joe Crawford was named to the New York State Public High School Athletics Association All-Tournament Team.

Northstar Christian Academy will face the winner of the Greenport vs. Lake George in the state final at 7 p.m. Saturday in Binghamton.
