Man possessed stolen security camera, police say

Name: Andrew J. Fiorentini

Location: Garfield Street, Cortland, N.Y.

Summary: Fiorentini is accused of possessing a stolen security camera while at a residence on Garfield Street on May 18, 2018. He is charged with criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor.

Cortland man charged with DWI

Name: Albert William-Dale Drake, Jr.

Location: Route 13, Town of Truxton

Summary: At around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, officers from the Cortland County Sheriff's Office stopped a vehicle being operated by 49-year-old Albert William-Dale Drake, Jr., for crossing over the center line several times on Route 13 in the town of Truxton. Drake was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested, processed, and later released to a third party.

Rochester woman charged with DWI

Name: Sarah M. Chairella

Location: Route 11, Town of Cortlandville

Summary: At around 2:10 a.m. Sunday, officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle being operated by 39-year-old Sarah M. Chiarella after she was observed failing to keep right on Route 11 in the Town of Cortlandville. Upon further investigation she was found to be in an intoxicated condition.

Six charged with trespassing

Name: Joshua A. Shively, 24, Cortland; Misty B. Fairweather, 38, Marathon; Andrew J. Fiorentini, 35, Cortland; Michael P. McCloy, 24, homeless; David M. Bucanelli, 31, Homer; Amber L. Malloy, 34, Groton

Location: Clayton Avenue, Cortland

Summary: The above-listed individuals were arrested on Sunday, June 3, at 12:56 a.m. They entered and remained unlawfully at a vacant house on Clayton Avenue, police said. They were each charged with third-degree criminal trespassing, a misdemeanor. Bucanelli was also charged with possession of a hypodermic instrument and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, both misdemeanors, for having a needle and three grams of meth.

Cortland man charged with endangering the welfare of a child

Name: Charles W. Doughty

Location: Cortland

Summary: On June 2, Doughty was having a scheduled visit with his two children aged 10-12 when he got involved in a verbal argument over the phone with a female that had a non-harassing order of protection against him, police said. He was charged with criminal contempt and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors.

Police: Man stole phone, credit cards

Name: Abdul-Salaam O. Odu

Location: Crandall Street, Cortland

Summary: On June 2, while at a residence on Crandall Street, Odu pulled a 26-year-old female out of her vehicle and stole her iPhone and wallet which contained credit cards while in front of a 3-month old girl and a 6-year-old boy. He was charged with felonies of robbery, grand larceny, and criminal contempt. He was sent to jail on $500 cash bail.

DWI charge for Cortland man

Summary: South was charged with driving while intoxicated after moving from a lane unsafely onto Charles Street.

Cops: Cortland man had drugs, no license

Name: Christopher I. Williams

Location: Grant Street, Cortland

Summary: Williams was stopped on Grant Street. He did not have a license inside his vehicle and also possessed oxycodone, fentanyl, morphine, and marijuana, police said. He was sent to hail on $7,500 cash bail.
