Cortland, New York, will celebrate its 19th Annual Brockway Truck Show August 9 – 12, with events held at venues all around town.

For almost two decades, the event has been a popular destination for truck buffs, regional history enthusiasts, as well as those who simply enjoy being out and about.

"We’re all looking forward for the 19th Annual National Brockway Truck Show to power into Cortland,” said Nick Neabel, Business Relations Account Executive for The Summit Federal Credit Union, the show’s main sponsor. “As a locally grown and locally committed financial cooperative, we love celebrating Brockway’s heritage with the community.”

The Brockway Motor Company, founded as Brockway Carriage Works in 1875, operated in Cortland from 1912 to 1977 as a manufacturer of custom heavy-duty trucks. Each Brockway truck sported a hood ornament of a husky dog, which gave Cortland its nickname “Huskie Town, USA.”

Events include the “Huskie Drive” Brockway truck convoy; an ice cream “cruise-in”; a BBQ buffet; and a truck parade and award ceremony. The Summit Federal Credit Union is sponsoring a fireworks display at 9:30pm, Friday, August 10. A full schedule of Brockway Truck Show events may be found at www.brockwaytrucks.org.

“People of all ages can and do enjoy the Brockway Truck Show for an afternoon, a day or all four days,” said Neabel.
