Cortland man goes on spending spree with stolen credit card, police say

Robin S. Stevens, 35, of Cortland (New York State Police)

CORTLAND, N.Y. — A Cortland man has been charged with felonies of identity theft and grand larceny after allegedly going on a spending spree with a stolen credit card.

The arrest stems from a complaint that was reported in December 2017 in which the complainant told police that more than $1,000 was spent on a credit card without their approval.

Police identified 35-year-old Robin S. Stevens, of Cortland, as the suspect.

Troopers located Stevens in the city of Cortland Thursday afternoon, and he was arrested.

Stevens was arraigned on charges of identity theft in the second degree and grand larceny in the fourth degree in Scott Town Court and remanded to the Cortland County Jail without bail.
