CORTLAND, N.Y. — A Cortland County family lost their home and most of their possessions in a fire Sunday night.
The fire happened at a home on Pease Hill Road in Cuyler sometime Sunday evening, though none of the residents were home when the fire broke out, officials said.
The American Red Cross is assisting the family by providing temporary housing, food and clothing as needed.
The family will meet with caseworkers in the coming days to work on a long-term recovery plan, according to Red Cross Regional Communications Program Manager Dan Hartman.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
