For today's weather forecast, forecasters are predicting a cloudy afternoon, setting up a day of scattered showers that will continue for much of the week.

The morning will start off with a patchy fog before 8 a.m. It will start to get partly sunny as the day goes on, with temperatures reaching a high near 73 degrees.

Late in the afternoon, clouds will start showing and temperatures will drop to around 56 degrees at night.

Here is a look at the weather forecast for the rest of the week, according to the National Weather Service in Binghamton:

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 10am. Temperatures will reach a high in the mid 70s and a low around the high 50s.

Wednesday: Severe thunderstorms, possibly hitting after 8am. As there will be a 50 percent chance of precipitation during the day. Temperatures will reach high near 76 degrees, then decrease to around the high 50s at night.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy, with there being a 70 percent chance of showers both during the day and night. Temperatures will reach a high around 73 degrees during the day. Going into the evening, temperatures will drop to the mid 50s.

Friday: Mostly cloudy during the day, with chances of showers decreasing to a low 30 percent. Temperatures will also reach a high near 70 degrees. Clouds will then start diminishing entering evening hours, and temperatures will decrease to around 52 degrees.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with temperatures increasing to a high near 74 degrees during the day then decreasing to around 54 degrees at night.

Sunday: Mostly sunny with temperatures reaching a high near 77 degrees.
