Fun Events at the Cortland Free Library

Throughout the year, the Cortland Free Library offers a variety of youth services and events for kids and teens to participate every week.

This week, there will be many different events for kids to enjoy.

On Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., there will be a baby and toddler time for children from the ages of birth to two-years-old, where there will be fun rhymes, stories and songs being played.

At 6 p.m on Wednesday, there will be chess club for kids and teens of all ages. It doesn't matter if you are an expert to a beginner. There will be lessons on the basics of the game if you are a beginner.

On Thursday at 10:30 a.m. there will be story time for kids age three to five. Kids will be able to enjoy songs, stories and other activities at this time.

Then at 4 p.m., it will be Teen JUMBO Game Night, where teens from the ages of 12 and 18 will be able to play giant sized games. They will play games such as checkers, Uno and Connect Four. However, in order to participate in this event, registration will be required.

Then to start off the next week on a high note, at 6 p.m. on Monday, August 12, local illustrator, Jacob Souva will share his newest book, "Pedro's Pan; A Gold Rush Story." The first 20 families will receive a free and signed copy of the book.
