Homer man arrested for DWI following crash on Route 11

On September 27th at around 9:33 p.m., officers of the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a personal injury motor vehicle crash on Route 11 in the Town of Homer.

25-year-old Homer man Austin Parker, was travelling south on Route 11, in a 2000 Dodge pick-up, when he drove off the road sheering a utility pole. The vehicle continued traveling through several residential yards before coming to rest in an over grown field.

Mr. Parker attempted to flee the scene but was located in the field by officers. After a brief struggle with officers, he was taken into custody and transported to Guthrie Medical Center for processing and minor cuts because of the motor vehicle crash.

Mr. Parker is being charged with several misdemeanors and violations.

Mr. Parker was arraigned in the Town of Homer Court on September 28, 2019 at 8:30 AM. He was released in court and is scheduled to return October 15, 2019 at 4:00 PM. The incident is still under investigation and additional charges may be pending.
