Homer woman arrested after DWI car crash

On December 6th, 2019 at approximately 11:58 p.m., Officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a personal injury motor vehicle crash on State Route 281 in the Town of Homer.

The operator, Hannah Potter, 30, from Homer, was traveling south on Route 281 when she crossed the north bound lane of traffic, went off the roadway and struck a tree head on.

She was then transported to Guthrie Medical Center by TLC ambulance for facial injuries. She was later arrested for a driving while intoxicated, a Class E Felony, because of a previous driving while intoxicated conviction.

Potter was arraigned in the Town of Homer Court on December 7th, 2019 at 7:30 a.m. and released.

Potter is being charged with a Driving While Intoxicated Felony. She is also being charged with Speed Not Reasonable and Prudent (Infraction), and Driving Across Hazard Markings (Infraction).

She is due back in Homer Town Court on December 17th, 2019 at 4 p.m.
