Your Finger Lakes Weather forecast for Cortland and the surrounding areas for Sunday, February 9, 2020:

A small weather system will move through the region tonight, but the daytime hours will remain mostly dry.

This morning will have a mix of sun and clouds before clouds become thicker in the afternoon. A stray flurry may be possible, but even if it does snow, it will not accumulate.

Temperatures have already started to rise early this morning thanks to an increasing south wind. The wind will blow between 5-10 mph today with top gusts around 20 mph.

Warmer air will continue to work in on the south winds with highs reaching the mid 30s this afternoon.

Snow will arrive in the area around or slightly after 9 PM and continue lightly through the night. A coating to perhaps an inch or two will fall before turning to rain in the morning.

Wednesday: Partly cloudy with a few flurries early. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Thursday: Rain showers, perhaps mixing with snow or ice early. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.
