While this winter has had spurts of snow and plenty of ice, it has not had much in the way of bitter cold. That will change briefly today, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Temperatures are already cold and will not rise much over the course of the day. This will be the case despite increasing chances for sunshine through the afternoon.

High temperatures will struggle to get much higher than 10 degrees.

Some more lake effect snow showers will be possible through the morning with another fluffy inch or so in some areas.

Winds will be from the northwest at 7-12 mph with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Temperatures will rapidly fall under clear skies this evening and may drop below zero by 9 PM. The southeastern part of the county will likely end up the coldest by Saturday morning, falling to -10 or colder.

Saturday: Some sunshine, especially in the morning. Morning lows of -5 to -15. Afternoon highs in the mid 20s.

Sunday: Sun and some clouds. Morning lows in the low 20s. Afternoon highs near 40.

Monday: A mix of sun and clouds. Morning lows in the low 20s. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.

Tuesday: Cloudy with periods of rain, possibly starting as a little snow early. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.
