This is a press release from Cortland County Clerk of the Legislature Eric Mulvihill.

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases to-date in Cortland County remains at fourteen (14). To date, none of the positive cases that have been reported are connected to each other.  Cortland County Health Professionals are currently monitoring 56 individuals. At this time Cortland County is reporting one patient hospitalized. The Cortland County Health Department has received 455 negative test results from Health Care providers.

If you are instructed by a medical professional to get tested, follow their instructions for a sample collection and then go directly to your home and DO NOT LEAVE YOUR HOME, and isolate yourself from your household to the extent possible until you receive results from your provider. The provider who orders the test will be who contacts you with the result; it could take up to a week or more to get results.

Cortland County residents who are experiencing coronavirus symptoms need to call their doctor, who will coordinate any necessary testing. For people who don’t have a primary-care physician, they can call Upstate Medical University at (315) 464-3979 or Cayuga’s Call Center at (607) 319-5708.

Please continue to practice social distancing, proper cleaning, and hygiene practices, and stay home as much as possible.
