Cortland Weather Outlook: Wednesday, May 27

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Wednesday, May 27, 2020:

Our dominating high pressure system will slowly begin to pull away, but the change will hardly have an impact on our weather for today.

Instead of mostly clear skies, a layer of thin clouds will work in from the south this morning. The clouds will remain in place for the afternoon. Sunshine should easily filter through the clouds.

Rain, for the most part, will not be an issue. However, there is once again a small chance for an isolated pop-up shower or storm during the hot part of the day.

Temperatures are off to a warm start and will quickly rise again this morning. Afternoon highs will likely be a couple degrees shy of yesterday, thanks to the clouds, reaching the low and mid 80s.

Winds will be from the south at 5-10 mph with gusts to 20 mph. The winds will continue this evening and, combined with the clouds, will hold temperatures in the 60s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Thursday: More clouds than sun. Afternoon rain showers. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Friday: Periods of rain and thunderstorms likely. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Saturday: Partly cloudy. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s.

Sunday: Cloudy. Maybe a spit of drizzle. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.
